Additional information
Keys to the Tour Mélusine can be hired from the Office de Tourisme Vendée Grand Sud - Vouvant.
According to legend, the tower was built by the fairy Mélusine. She built it in one night using “three dornées de pierres et d'une goulée d'Ève” (three stone-filled aprons and a gulp of water).
Dating from the late 12th, early 13th centuries, this circular keep houses two vaulted, domed rooms.
