City bus, sea bus, ferry - find all the practical information, routes and timetables to get around easily with the Yélo public transport included in the La Rochelle Océan pass.

THE ILLICO LINES: 4 fast, direct lines, with frequencies of 10 to 15 minutes during rush hour.
The ILLICO lines connect downtown La Rochelle, the downtown areas of the surrounding municipalities, the dense neighborhoods and the major points of interest in the area (shopping centers, etc.). They run from 5:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays, and from 6:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturdays.

REGULAR LINES: 15 lines offer a bus every 20 to 60 minutes during rush hour.
These routes serve the urban and suburban areas of the territory. They offer identical schedules from September to June with a range of hours from 6:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays (7 a.m. on Saturdays), depending on the route.

NIGHT ROUTES: 3 night routes run only on Friday and Saturday nights.
These routes are based on the ILLICO 1, ILLICO 2 and ILLICO 3 routes, and offer a bus every 40 minutes from 10:15 pm to 1:00 am.

SUNDAY AND HOLIDAY ROUTES: 5 routes run every 40 minutes on Sundays and holidays, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Routes D1, D2, D3, and D4 are based on the ILLICO 1, ILLICO 2, ILLICO 3 and ILLICO 4 routes, respectively.
The D5 line serves the major facilities in the area (airport, train station and bus station).

LINES RUNNING DURING SCHOOL PERIODS: 46 special lines serve the territory's schools and are accessible to all!
These routes, identified by 3-digit numbers, are defined according to the school entrance and exit times, but remain accessible to all, whether or not they are students!

TRANSPORTATION ON DEMAND :
In the less densely populated areas, minibuses with reservations complement the regular routes from Monday to Friday.
Transportation on Demand is a mobility solution adapted to your trips when no other means of transportation is available on a daily basis.

SUMMER ROUTES TO THE ISLE OF RE: Routes 50 and 51 serve the Ile de Ré and run only in summer.
Line 51 is specially adapted to take bicycles on board the bus!

Yélo sea bus

The Yélo Sea Bus links the Old Port of La Rochelle with the Minimes Marina (and vice versa) by sea in around 20 minutes. Take advantage of this mini-cruise-style journey, during which you'll be able to pass between the two towers of the Old Port of La Rochelle and admire the coastal scenery.

The Sea Bus is silent and non-polluting thanks to its electro-solar technology, and was introduced in La Rochelle in 2009.

On your way, the entrance to the Vieux Port at the end of the channel will reveal itself before your eyes; you'll catch a glimpse of the Plage de la Concurrence and the Parc d'Orbigny; you'll approach the Richelieu beacon before rounding the Digue du Nouveau Monde and entering the La Rochelle Marina (and vice versa).

How do I use the ferry with my pass?

1. From the ‘La Rochelle Océan Pass’ application, once you have entered your pass number, click on ‘Transports en commun Yélo’.

2. Scan the QR Code on the bus (located next to the drivers) to validate your journey. Validation is compulsory at every connection on your journey.

3. If you are stopped on board, show your ticket to the inspector by clicking on ‘Yélo public transport’ then ‘Show my ticket for inspection’.

Yélo ferry

The Yélo ferry links the Old Port and the Médiathèque area (and vice versa) in less than 5 minutes. It's an on-demand service (on call via a button on the Médiathèque side). During your crossing, you'll have the pleasure of passing between the Towers of La Rochelle, which mark the entrance to the Old Port.

The Passeur is silent and non-polluting thanks to its electro-solar technology.

It links the 250 metres between the Vieux Port basin and Avenue Michel Crépeau (quick access to the Maritime Museum, La Rochelle Aquarium, Espace Encan and Quai des Artisans) on the other side of the river, avoiding the need to walk around the Vieux Port and its basins.

The Yélo bus network allows you to get around the 28 communes of the Communauté d'Agglomération de La Rochelle.

The ILLICO lines: 4 fast, direct lines, with frequencies of between 10 and 15 minutes during rush hour. The ILLICO lines link La Rochelle city centre, the town centres of the surrounding communes, the densely populated neighbourhoods and the main centres of interest in the area (shopping centres, etc.). They run from 5.45am to 10pm on weekdays, and from 6.30am to 10pm on Saturdays.

Regular routes: 15 routes offer a bus every 20 to 60 minutes during rush hour. These routes serve the region's urban and suburban areas. They offer identical timetables from September to June, with a range of hours from 6.30am to 9pm on weekdays (7am on Saturdays), depending on the route.

Night services: 3 night routes run only on Friday and Saturday evenings. These routes are based on the ILLICO 1, ILLICO 2 and ILLICO 3 routes, and offer a bus every 40 minutes from 10.15pm to 1am.

Sunday and public holiday routes: 5 routes run every 40 minutes on Sundays and public holidays, from 9.00 am to 8.00 pm. Routes D1, D2, D3 and D4 are based on the ILLICO 1, ILLICO 2, ILLICO 3 and ILLICO 4 routes respectively. Route D5 serves the region's major facilities (airport, SNCF train station and bus station).

Summer routes to the Île de Ré: routes 50 and 51 serve the Île de Ré and run only in summer. Route 51 is specially adapted to take bicycles on board the bus.
