Free access to the Fouras regional museum, housed in the town's most important historical and military building, Fort Vauban, classified as a historical monument in May 1937.
From the terrace, also accessible during the tour and situated 36 m above the sea, you'll enjoy an exceptional view of the Charente estuary, the islands of Madame, Oléron, Aix and Ré.
As you explore the entire dungeon, you'll discover the past of Fouras-les-Bains, a charming seaside resort, thanks to a 600 m² themed exhibition: geology and archaeology, military history, seaside history, maritime history...

High season, June 1 to September 15: Tuesday to Sunday, 10am to 12pm and 3pm to 6.30pm.
Low season: Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 2:30pm to 5:30pm.
School vacations, February, Easter, All Saints' Day: Tuesday to Sunday, 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Fouras Regional Museum
The Musée régional de Fouras, which has been awarded the Musée de France label, is run by the Association des Amis du Musée. It presents an exhibition on the history of the region in the grounds of Fort Vauban.
