Visit to Nieul-sur-l'Autise Abbey
Nieul-sur-l'Autise Abbey opens its doors to you for a visit on the borderline between the real and the virtual. The interactive tour, with touch screens and 3D reconstructions, reveals the secrets and history of the abbey, a rare and almost intact monastic complex in the Bas-Poitou region.
Founded in 1068, Saint-Vincent Abbey enjoyed the protection of the Dukes of Aquitaine and was granted royal abbey status in 1141 by Eleanor of Aquitaine, then Queen of France.
